What is the definition of Meditation? How can you Benefit from Meditation?
The definition of Meditation: Connecting with that higher awareness part of you to help bring more stillness, peace and presence into your life.
Types of Meditation:
There are many types of meditation. Traditional meditation is closing the eyes, going within and connecting with that higher part of you. The higher part of you knows peace, stillness and wisdom. When you are able to connect with it more redily, you stay more peaceful in your day to day activities and are more easily guided by the higher purpose you came here for.
Other ways that can help you learn to be more present are activities like breathing exercises, spending quiet reflective time in nature, yoga (tai chi and chi gong) and for some, activites like exercise, or listening to reflective music may work. A meditative state can be as simple as taking time to observe everything in your world without putting a lable or judgement to it. When you start getting the hang of it, you can start training your brain for even more focus and deeper states of meditation. Many people get intimidated by thinking they have to shut their thoughts off in order to meditate so they think they are doing it wrong or can’t do it. Getting to that stage will take time so don’t give up.
Benefits of Meditation
When you practice meditation, it positively affects the cells of your body. It helps to balance you on a cellular level and when you are balance, your body, and mind will behave more optimally generating wellness in your life. There is actually a science behind it. Because of this, the benefits of mediation you can experience are:
- Reduced Stress
- Controling Anxiety
- Experiencing More Self Awareness
- Helps you more easily cope with the ups and downs of life – you can see it in a new light and with more peace and calm
- Improved Mental, Emotional and Physical Health
- Activate more Peace and Kindness
The truth is, we are all light beings having a human experience. When we take time to meditation, we remove ourselves from the chaos of the human experience and connect with the that higher truth light being we truly are. That light being is the part of you that holds your higher wisdom and truth. It is non-judgemental. It lives in a state of Peace, Joy, Compassion and Kindness. That is who you really are. Wouldn’t you like to live from that state daily?
